Shoot Down MS with a Spring Minishoot

Those of you who know me at all know of my little obsession with cycling…road biking that is.  I started riding about 2 years ago and it has changed my life in so many positive ways I figure it is time to finally give some of that positive energy back.  Every year thousands of riders descend upon my hometown in Cache Valley to raise money for the fight against MS, and this year I will be joining them. 

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk, let alone ride a bike. The symptoms of MS are different, for everyone, and may change from day to day - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the Bike MS: Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we can fight this disease by simply riding a bike, because we have chosen to help thousands of people through a contribution to the Bike MS: Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride , we are now getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."

In order to raise money for my ride I will be offering a spring mini shoot.  Bring your kids in their new spring attire, capture an individual portrait of your little one or get a family photo taken before the craziness of summer sets in.  All donations will go to Bike MS.

“Stand Ye In Holy Places” (February 2013)

 

Got a phone call a few months ago asking if I could help with a promotional poster for Stake Girls Camp.

Loved the idea of the different colored shoes for each of the Young Women values…now I really want some royal blue Tom wedge sandals. Had a great time doing this shoot, just had to pose feet no worries over forced smiles!   Oh, and can you guess where I will be July 9th-12th…it’s a good thing I like to camp.

Gardner Village & Garden Park—October 2012

 

This post should probably go on the family blog, but I thought these photos were so fun I would share.  Back in October when the boys were off track we ventured out for our annual witch hunt at Gardner Village.  The witches were spooky and the cookies were yummy.  The boys love finding the witches they remember from previous years, they each have a favorite.

          After Gardner Village we headed over the Garden Park Ward.  I had hoped to take Jessica and Vince’s engagement photos here and I wanted to do some exploring before we had the actual photo shoot.  The boys came with me and I was a bit worried they might not enjoy a park with out any swings or slides.  Boy was I wrong.  They ran every where, explored every nook and cranny, and floated about 1,000 leaves down the river while I snapped away with the camera.  The park was beautiful.  It would turn out that we were not able to schedule engagement photos here, but we did do bridals and formals at the park. It was an amazing location with so many great trees, the unique architecture, and great lighting.  Will be coming back here for many more shoots.

The Brown Family—(October 2012)

 

 

Got to know the Brown Family a little bit this summer when they were part of this family. 

  

I was so happy when they called to see if we could do a photo shoot with their 5 little boys.  I knew these boys pretty well from being in Primary with them and couldn’t believe how much they had grown up.

 

             

Thanks for the fun afternoon boys…and mom you are an inspiration when it comes to raising boys, always the picture of patience and composure.  Thank you for letting me spend the evening with you capturing some memories of these growing boys.
